National Infrastructures Reflection
Protecting National Infrastructure
National infrastructure is underlying and complex support and delivery systems for
critical large scale services that get considered crucial to a state. I have come to learn that these
systems can include supervisory control and data acquisition systems, law enforcement
databases, emergency response, and also financial applications and systems. Further, national
infrastructures can consist of military support services, mobile telecommunications, consumer
entertainment systems, and even power control networks (Amoroso, 2012). Most of these
infrastructures get provided through commercial groups such as banks, airlines, and internet
service providers. National infrastructures, including those of the United States, are always
vulnerable and to malicious attacks, including physical ones such as asset theft, facility bombing,
cable cuts as well as equipment tampering and theft.
