The Main Thesis
The author asserts that the intellectual groups and outsiders influence political
revolutions, leadership, and the making of laws in a country. The poor individuals, such as
peasants, are not accorded the opportunity to share their opinions or perspectives regarding the
running and operations of their own country. Peasants who attempt to bring societal changes or
revolutions are met with violence or even killed by the ruling elites. The ruling elites do not
value junior class in society, and only regard them as critical in payment of taxes that are used to
govern and rule the country.
The author highlights that peasant rebellions are rare as the middle-class citizens and
elites are determined to crashing any dissent from the group. If such peasant revolutions occur
and succeed, the success cannot be attributed to the peasants but the middle class who infiltrate
in the riots to bring their own changes. The ruling elites also employ their ruthlessness in
