The Chinese Religion
The Chinese religion significantly differed from other religions on the basis that it was
multi-religious constituting of three major dimensions, Confucianism, Buddhism, as well as
Taoism. These philosophical frameworks were very pronounced in the country and significantly
influenced the country’s culture. Family was highly valued in these beliefs, however, they were
not exclusive and people could have beliefs in more than one religious body. Cults were very
common in the Chinese religion and they were officially recognized and accepted with the
common ones being Caishen, Volksgeist, Mazu, Pangu, as well as Guandi among others
(Johnston, 2004). Statues were dominant in the religion and hold the record for world’s tallest
statute known as the Spring Temple Buddha. The correlation of these different religions made
them very promiscuous to other religions as well as the value given to family by the religion.
Similarities on all Religions
Although all ancient religions significantly differed from one another based on the people
as well as their beliefs, there were similar traits among all religions. All ancient religions
believed in worshipping with the commonest worshipped figures being the moon, sun, or planets
although they were addressed using different names at the time. These religions held a single
belief of worshipping the world around them that primarily catered for them as well as their
needs. There was an overall concept of good and evil although the people’s belief on what is
good or evil differed. The overall idea was there was good that was to be followed and evil that
was unacceptable and forbidden.
