Explanation & Answer

Question One
Why are scholarly books and journals more reliable than popular sources?
Scholarly books tend to be a more comprehensive source of information as they are
written and reviewed by experts. The information that is in academic books has to be
substantiated and has to back by evidence and facts. Therefore, scholarly books and journals are
more reliable in giving credible information as they are based on research and supported by
evidence. At the same time, other sources maybe just an opinion, and peer review may not have
been done. Non-scholarly journal purpose may be to entertain or give an opinion (Kousha &
Thelwall, 2017).
Which one would you recommend to your boss, and why?

customize search on years to the most recent ten years. The next step will be on narrowing search
on field options to ‘Employees Retention’ then click on the search icon. I will then choose an
appropriate journal, then click on P.D.F. to get the full text. The final step will be looking at
A.P.A. citation and double-checking on capitalization.

Copy and paste the reference for the article into the box below (In the answer box, use the
clipboard tab with “T” to paste the citation
Question Three
What is the difference between a paraphrase and a direct quote?
While quoting someone’s speech or writing, you use exact words used by the writer or
speaker, and hence quotation marks ar...
