What is the identified research problem? Does the author include the significance and
background of the problem?
Patient falls remain a major issue across most clinical settings and its linked to increased
incidences of injuries and fractures and in extreme cases. Thus, in the selected study, patient
falls was considered as the research problem. The significance of the current study focused o
approaches which can be used to reduce incidence of patient falls with use of videos icons and
alarms being indicated as some of the common methods.

Yes, the research purpose was identified. In the current context the research purpose was to
evaluate the effectiveness of patient education videos as well as the use of fall prevention
icons and bed alarms in reducing incidences of patients falls.

The study utilized a performance improvement design . The study was implemented across
four different hospitals with two units being composed of surgical patients while the other two
rooms being composed of nursing staff.
