Agile Supply Chain Management Strategy
1. Why Companies adopted Lean Thinking and JIT model?
Supply Chain Management (SCM) enables products to be distributed at the right quantity, to
the exact locations, and at the right time. SCM enhances reductions of costs that, at large, ensures
customer satisfaction. In enabling all these effectively, business introduces the Lean thinking and
JIT models that improve all the processes (Sigh, 2013). Lean thinking refers to a set of principles
and procedures which can be applied by individuals and by a group. At the same time, the JIT
model is the utilization of resources, i.e., materials units, and the various components of
manufacturing arriving Just in Time for usage.
Roles of Lean Thinking and JIT model

Lead time is the total period and the frequency of product production. Introducing Lean
thinking and just in time principles would help reduce the time of creation from the start to the
end.
Reduction of Inventory
Inventory is a set of items that an organization maintains, awaiting meeting the demands
of both the internal and external customers. Implementing Lean JIT would help reduce the high
costs arising, enabling customer satisfaction.
