Do:   5*eqn1-3*eqn2

20y-36y=90+18

-16y=108

y=-6.75

substitute back into eqn 1:   3x+4(-6.75)=18

3x-27=18,    3x=45,  x=15

Therefore, x=15, y=-6.75
