Modernization: Modernization theory was presented in the 1950s to explain the factors and reason behind the industrial society’s development and growth in the North America and Western Europe. The theory explains that societies grown according to few  predictable stages.

Social exchange theory: Social exchange theory explains the changes in the basic social behavior as consider these changes a result of an exchange process. The ultimate aim of an exchange process is to maximize benefits and reduce cost to the minimum . Every social relationship is undertaken after evaluating the potential. If  the risks are more than the rewards, the relation is most likely be abandoned.
