This article reveals how childhood obesity has become an epidemic. The primary purpose
of this article is to inform and generate better solutions to childhood obesity. The first
recommendation outlined in this article is the evaluation of food services in schools. The authors
state that children should consume whole grains, vegetables, fruits products, low-fat and non-fat
dairy products for these products develop healthy eating habits. The other claim that the author
highlights in this article are that inactivity is among the leading causes of childhood obesity.
Children spend the most time watching television using computers or playing video games.
Besides, the stresses on encouraging children to engage in physical activity where they should
exercise or practice other health habits. The other recommendation that the author gives in this
article is limiting children’s regular use of electronic media. The use of electronic media limits
children’s exposure to diverse foods advertised in these areas.
