Within the piece, the acronym of S.P.L.E.R.N. is used to evaluate educational material.  Select and view an educational program and evaluate its effectiveness using the criteria defined by this acronym as well as other elements discussed in the webcast and in your own research.  Possible programs include, but are not limited to, Sid the Science Kid, Between the Lions, Magic School Bus, Super Why, and Sesame Street.  Many episodes are available for online viewing.

In a three- to four-page paper (plus title and reference pages), include the following:

  • A brief summary of your chosen program
  • An evaluation of its quality based on the S.P.L.E.R.N. criteria and other research you conducted
  • An analysis of its potential as an educational tool within the media center or classroom setting

Refer to the webcast, your chosen program, your text, and at least one additional resource in your paper.  Remember to cite your sources using proper APA format
