Reflect on Your Project

Now that you have completed both portions of your proposal, take some time to reflect on your experience with the project. Looking back on it, do you still think it is feasible? What might you change in order to make it a more practical proposal? Perhaps you think it is worthy of being submitted to someone outside this class, do you have any plans to do so? What changes would you make to your process if you were to take it on for a second time? Why?

Naturally, this assignment will have some overlap with your report for this week, but for this assignment try stick to discussing the project - all other aspects can be left to the report. If you had never used APA, perhaps you can discuss your interaction with a new writing style. I found this book useful because it relates to the topic of discussion which involves unqualified managers. The book explains how training in an organization including the unqualified managers can be productive to it. (2015). Fundamentals of human resource management. This book gives account of the importance of human resource management in organizations. It further explains the responsibility of the human resource especially with regards to recruitment and hiring of personnel. The book is useful to the discussion topic in that it shows the importance of having a department in an organization responsible for bringing in managers. Therefore if managers are either qualified or unqualified it is the responsibility of human resource to identify that fact. This book assists us in understanding that theory. However this book is written by qualified professions and thus provides a good basis to point out the best and most effective solutions for unqualified managers. Who should be blamed for the presence of having unqualified managers in organizations? When discussing about unqualified managers we look at the consequences and solutions to solve such problems. However we do not get to look at the main reasons behind having them in the organizations. This book specifically looks at the reasons for having such unqualified people in organizations. Management systems are responsible for the recruitment and hiring of managers that are effective in companies. However at times they fail in their roles and end up recruiting unqualified personnel for management. The book explains these reasons more in deep and also looks at technology as another reason for having unqualified managers hired in organizations. Executive Summary Purpose The purpose of this project lies fully on the importance of having qualified managers in an organization. It is not a good picture having trained employees that exceed the skills of their manager. This project will focus on how to ensure that mangers are qualified for their roles and also identifying what equipment are required for them to be effective so as to contribute to the success of their organizations. Problem Managers in any organizations are responsible for its success and performance. Therefore having unqualified managers leads to a business failure as well as disruptions in the firms operations. The major problem that causes most of these managers to lack better qualities is the UNQUALIFIED MANAGERS 5 lack of proper training. In addition to business failure employees that work under these managers tend to lack motivation to work and are thus not satisfied with their work. In the long run the entire business will likely fail in its performance and productivity as a result of the unqualified managers. Solution The best effective solution to the problems of having an unqualified manager is training. Coaching these managers will be helpful for it will allow them to learn the operations of their organizations and how to carry on with them. Moreover hiring employees that work within the organization would also reduce the problems. This is because employees within are already familiar with their firms operations. Conclusion For any business to be successful, their objectives and goals should have hiring qualified managers as a first priority. Unqualified managers may cause delays in accomplishing objectives of firms. This is because they lack the intelligence to make rational choices that may assist the company through successful operations. Secondly by identifying the problems that may arise as a result of unqualified managers we can be able to compare them with mistakes of the qualified managers. Chances are that qualified managers are likely to make minor mistakes that may not cause large problems whereas the unqualified managers may make major problems that would require intervention. Lastly from research on unqualified managers we can be able to attain solutions to the problems they cause. This is so because through identification of the problems these managers cause we are able to come across what qualified managers d so as to have their level of intelligence and how the make the best decisions. Problem In a company such as Apple a number of problems are likely to occur as a result of having unqualified managers. One is the fact that their technology products and services may lack a good ready market in the business environment. This is because managers are supposed to be responsible for providing directions regarding all operations in the company. Therefore an unqualified manager may fail to recognize what the company requires to boost it sales and also how he or she can motivate its employees to work towards the goals of the company. UNQUALIFIED MANAGERS 5 In addition to employee direction an unqualified manager may fail to understand the different emotions of his or her workers that assist him in effective decision making. The poor managers are likely to engage in biased actions especially when dealing with important tasks (Weihrich, Koontz and Cannice, 2013). This is a risk a company like Apple is not willing to take since biased actions may result to delays in service delivery thus making minimum profits than expected. Poor prioritization at work is also another major issue related to poor managers in organization (In Jamil, In Lopes, In Silva and In Ribeiro, 2015). This kind of manager not only fails to prioritize their work but also those of other such as employees. This may result to problems associated with time management at work. Lastly is the problem of proper communication between managers and their staff. A poor manager may cause distrust between employees as he fails to communicate the details properly of the company’s goals and what is expected of the employees. These are some of the problems that may result from having an unqualified manager in an organization. In turn the problems extend to affecting the overall operations of a company and its productivity. Most of the unqualified managers in firms and organizations exist as a result of having poor hiring systems. This is because if the recruitment systems or team pays more focus in choosing candidates to manage their organizations they can be identify the lack of proper qualifications in potential candidates. Secondly the problem of unqualified mangers arises as a result of choosing potential candidates with limited knowledge about a company. Apple for example if it had selected a manger that had limited or no knowledge about the company then the operations of the firm UNQUALIFIED MANAGERS 6 would be failing. Therefore the choice of a manger should consider selecting one with enough knowledge about the company. Solutions The problem of unqualified managers can be solved at first by having effective hiring systems. These systems are the ones that cause the biggest mistake at first by hiring unqualified personnel into companies. The recruitment team may consider hiring individuals from within the company who already has adequate knowledge of the entire company’s operations (Schweyer, 2013). In addition during recruitment the company should focus on those candidates that are prepared for the position of leading the company (In Todorov and In Smallbone, 2014). Moreover in case of hiring from within the company the employees should be guided through becoming good and effective mangers. The employees may have all the knowledge about their company but may not be prepared to act as a manager. Therefore preparations are important during promoting an employee within the organization to a higher position of management. Secondly the managers can be trained to increase their intelligence level and also their leadership qualities in the company. These skills and qualifications will help them to relate with the employees as well as improve their directions towards the goals of their companies. Moreover the managers should engage in open discussions with their employees so as to boost their emotional intelligence to help understand each and every individual behavior. This allows the manager to learn ways in which he can motivate his staff. Conclusion UNQUALIFIED MANAGERS 7 Large companies such as the Apple multinational technology company have been able to remain stable and successful in their progress as a result of having qualified and effective managers. These companies employ the proposed solutions of hiring prepared managers with high emotional intelligence so as to direct their operations towards success. Small and other large business therefore that are failing in their operations should try and look at their managerial capabilities and failures s as to be able to establish solutions to their problems (Kerzner, 2013). In addition all managers in all organizations whether small or large have the same responsibilities of directing their work force. The responsibilities being making rational decisions, time management and employee direction towards a company’s objectives. The recommendations and solutions in have provided to best of my knowledge are
practicable and could be applied to any organization. Keeping in view, my thorough research and
what I have learned from my inspirational mentor through this course makes me believe that all
these solutions are feasible and can contribute effectively towards the further growth of Apple. I
always have a faith that there are chances of improving by remaining in hot pursuit of
excellence. Therefore, In order to make it more practical proposal, I would like to research more
as other examples can shed an insightful reflection on what else to do for even better outcomes.
My research thoroughly being about Apple Inc, I would like it to submit it to the leadership of
the said corporation. I am planning it sincerely to submit it to the top management of Apple. I
would be interested in knowing about their reaction and could they draw any useful inferences
from it for their future direction.
If I have a second opportunity to work on the proposal, I would visit industry and talk to
the top leadership and managers about their personal experiences in terms of qualified and
unqualified managers. I would like to do it because firsthand experience is always handy and can
provide us better learning opportunity. The people who have been successful managers
themselves or have faced situations where unqualified managers resulted in worse outcomes,
