### Question Description

I’m stuck on a Mathematics question and need an explanation.

Jerry wants to purchase some items whose cost function is C = 3x + 5 where x is the number of items If Jerry spends between \$50 and \$80 find the minimum and maximum number of items that he can purchase. Student has agreed that all tutoring, explanations, and answers provided by the tutor will be used to help in the learning process and in accordance with Studypool's honor code & terms of service. As given is

C = 3x + 5

From above relation, we get

(C - 5) / 3 = x

So now we find minimum items by putting C = 50, we get

(50 - 5) / 3 = x

45 / 3 = x

x = 15

HENCE Minimum items are 15.

Now we find maximum items by putting C = 80, we get

(80 - 5) / 3 = x

75 / 3 = x

x = 25

HENCE Maximum items are 25. University of Maryland Anonymous
