According to this systematic review, around 1982, up to some time back, the cost of
Antarctica was under the sea ice (McClintock, May 2016). Below the ice-cold sea waters, were a
beautiful dense assemblage of marine life on the seafloor, soft corals, sponges, and starfish and
sea urchins. James McClintock, who lived in the place, reported that things rapidly changed in
the site due to the sensitive nature of the polar ecosystem. Around 2006, warming got highly
depicted in Arctic, and Antarctica was on the radar. Later in 2009, James reported that it was not
only the peninsula that was warming. The warming had extended to the western portion of the
continent, not exempting the east side where the significant, thick layer of ice that attached to the
mainland had begun to melt (Kahle et al., 2017). Moreover, records taken on the mid-winter air
temperatures for 60 years depicted an increase of about 10 degrees Fahrenheit in the 60 years,
