The responses of the participants, guarding officers on dishonest and behavioral
manipulations by the inmates under the correctional facility, revealed that there are several types
of behavioral manipulations. The correctional staff admitted that dishonest behavior is collective
among most inmates and prisoners. The inmates and prisoners cheat principally to avoid the pain
of punishment and hassle-free for their comforts in correctional facility. Therefore, to meet
privacy, safety, activity, and emotional feedback, the inmates play "head games," lie, cheat,
scheme, steal or use concocted stories to get their custody transferred or punishment waved
temporarily. Some confessions from the correctional officers revealed that, sometimes, the
inmates might "warm-up" to the COs and present an image of a regular person to get permission
to visit their friends or fellow inmates on the other block.
