through his fairy tale of love Romeo and Juliet. This paper seeks to investigate critically the
theme of love as depicted in dialogue and actions of the main characters in Shakespeare’s work.
Correspondingly, the paper will discuss the light versus darkness motif as well as the utilization
of Oxymora and Paradox as outlined in the novel.
Important to mention, the power of love theme is immediately introduced in the
Prologue. In the prologue, Shakespeare vividly informs the audience that, the two primary
characters in the novel commit suicide. The author also points out that the two characters
