Description
For the culminating research project in this course, you will be choosing ONE of the topics listed below:
- Risk Taking
- There are many ways in which troubled tweens express themselves. For some, it's through risk-taking. But troubled tweens are the only ones who take chances. Risk taking is common among tweens and teens in general, largely because they truly do believe they are invincible.
- Risk-taking manifests in many different ways. For some preteens,
that might include binge drinking, having sex, and taking chances with
their own safety.
- Substance Abuse
- Many parents mistakenly believe that the risks of smoking, underage
drinking, and drug use are solely reserved for teenagers. Unfortunately,
many preteens engage in underage drinking, smoking, and other abusive
dangers, such as inhalants.

- Depression and Anxiety
- Depression and anxiety can affect children and adults, and in both
cases, it can be a difficult and challenging obstacle. Children who are
depressed often pull away from friends have trouble sleeping or change
their eating habits, among other symptoms.

- Obesity
- For obese and overweight children, life can be tough and troubling.
Youth who seriously struggle with weight often face social issues and
may have trouble fitting in. In addition, they also have higher rates of
depression and other behavior problems.

You MUST choose one of the topics listed above. Once you have chosen your topic, email me to let me know which topic you chose. Note: Bullying/Cyberbullying are NOT topics you should be researching for this project.
You will:
- Research the topic,
- Evaluate and discuss its effects on the local community, then
- Present some possible solutions.
- This is a comprehensive, culminating activity which will involve a significant investment of your time and effort.
- The time allotted to this project is four weeks
- Your final project should be a total of 12-16 pages including:
- Cover page
- 4-5 pages of peer-reviewed research from Academic Journals ONLY! It should include originally designed data tables and graphs and/or statistics on the topic.
- 2-3 pages of your own analysis of the research.
- 2-3 pages of how this information relates specifically to the local community.
- 3-4 pages of possible solutions (MUST BE SPECIFIC AND DETAILED!)

Introduction
Understanding depression and anxiety create a significant impact and influence on the
creation of a better understanding and significant effects on the nature and improvement of the
current situations that an individual may face. The different challenges that come along with the
condition have similar impacts both to an individual and the society at large. A conclusive
approach must become identified as a critical approach to maintaining a better understanding and
creating a significant influence on the individuals faced with the condition. The following
review identifies different ideas presented by different authors whose aim is to create a better
understanding of the issue and to ensure an in-depth knowledge of the impact of the condition
both to an individual and the community.
Peer reviewed research
The article's key focus is creating reviews and understanding the different significant
interrelations between the phenomenon of anxiety and various life issues that continuously create
a substantial impact on an individual life. By understanding the effects, tension builds on the
development of an individual. It's possible to ensure that there are creativity and continuous
improvement in increasing the ability to understand and improve on how well to manage the
symptoms as they happen (Dan, Florina & Raluca, 2018). The research and continued
discussions yielded that there is a significantly higher impact on the physiological and
psychological approaches an individual may develop through the effects of anxiety.
Additionally, anxiety does not explicitly affect the different functioning but moves further to
influence and create an impact on the various aspects of family, religion, and social life behavior.
Through effects and varied symptoms, it's clear that there is an interference with the different

issues related to the family and how one understands their religion. Similarly, the condition may
interfere with an individual social life creating a weak interaction and communication disorder
between individuals within the society. It similarly interferes with the childhood growth of an
individual, the cultural interaction similarly interfered with, and a more significant impact is to
the different life situations of pregnancy and other life aspects. The article is generally
comprehensive and creates a substantial impact on understanding anxiety and its effects on the
individual and the community at large. Continued interaction is essential to understand the
significant influences and help develop support to the affected persons and hence constitute the
recovery process gradually.
The authors focus significantly on the relationship between anxiety and the aspect of social
support that most of the schools of thought have similarly focused on and created significant
influences. Throughout the research, there are different ideas and meaningful interactions that
are visible in the creation of various opportunities that would foster the need to establish social
support in the aim of creating a better influence and impact to the different patients and
conditions of depression and anxiety (Noraishah et al., 2019). The main focus of the research
based on distinct issues that amount to the significant impacts and influences of creating social
interaction between individuals.

how well this affects their current situation. Similarly, it identifies those different ways of
providing social support to individuals. The main findings involve the aspect of parenting and
which is critical in providing support to their children. The parents need to establish a better
understanding of their children, create empathy, and help the children develop a positive selfimage. The approach promotes the children get to understand the different ways of dealing with
