pedestrian and subway train

I need support with this Mathematics question so I can learn better.

A pedestrian averages 3 mi/h on the streets of Manhattan, and a subway train averages 30 mi/h. If each city block is 1/20 of a mile, how many more minutes than the subway train does it take for a pedestrian to travel 60 blocks in Manhattan?

Final Answer

Pedestrian speed = 3 mph

Subway train = 30 mph

differential = 27 mph

Each block =0.05 mile

60 blocks = 60*0.05 = 3 miles

Subway train covers in 3/30 =1/10 = 6 minutes

Pedestrian covers in 6 minutes =6/60*3 miles =0.3 miles.

He has to cover 2.7 miles more.

It will take the pedestrian = 2.7/3*60 = 54 minutes.
