The entire question says that Two less than the product of five and x is thirteen. The word "is" here means equals so "Two less than the product of five and x EQUALS thirteen"....Answer: 5x -2 = 13

Q2: This is 2 steps.

First find the equation using the same method as in question 1: 2x/5 + 4 = 24

Then solve it for x... 2x/5 + 4 = 24 (subtract 4 from both sides)... 2x/5 =20(multiply by 5 on both sides)....2x=100(divide by 2 on both sides)....Answer: x=50
