1. According to Heidegger’s reading of Plato, what is it that for Plato does not
enter into the sensuous? Even with the loss of the super nonsensuous world,
there is a vacant niche of the higher worlds remain. The blueprint of the “above
and below” as well remains and hence does Platonism. “In spite of the fact that
the supersensuous world as the true world has been cast aside, the vacant niche
of the higher world remains (207).
2. While Nietzsche speaks of his philosophy as the “inversion of Platonism,” is
this, according to Heidegger, “what he is aiming at”? Nietzsche’s philosophy
as the inversion of Platonism is not according to Heidegger. Nietzsche believes
that there are no absolute values (truth and beauty included) in existence. He,
therefore, argues that measuring the evolution of values can be done using other
means beyond human grasp “For Plato, the super nonsensuous is the true world”
(201).
3. According to Heidegger, the full scope of the “necessity” of overturning
Platonism is seen by the demand for another task. What is that task? Another
task in this regard is overcoming nihilism. In simple terms, the task is overcoming
the belief that life is meaningless and that nothing in the world has a real
