Religion as The Most Important Non-Human Force In History
The Most important non-human force in the making of history is religion. The
following reasons shall be presented in support of the above mentioned claim in detail. First,
it can be stated that religion is the most important non-human force because, it helps us
understand our origins, second it helps us find meaning of our current existence, and third it
helps us find hope of our fate in the afterlife (Duara, 2015). Typically religion is taken as an
outcome of alienation, and cultural materialism, and its effect on the religion that is practiced
within a society. Therefore it can be asserted that religion is the major non-human force in the
making of history hence, it ought to be sufficiently comprehended to help us create meaning
of a origins, our current existence and our fate in the afterlife.
Religion can be stated as the main pre-cursor that helps us understand our origins as
humanity. Several theories have been posited to explain the function of religion in the present
society we live in. Functionalism posits that, religion is a uniting concept that makes the
consensus of value stronger, and it is a crucial element in all societies (Duara, 2015). In
contrast Marxism carries the supposition that religion is an aspect only of class-segregated
society consequently there won’t be any requirement for faith in a community that it is
domineered by belief in class (Krause, 2015). Therefore Marx states that class is the primary
facet in the society that brings about religions and hence divisions in society. Marx's theory
of religion holds that the ruling class uses ideology as a weapon to help justify the suffering
of the masses as an inevitability, and in other terms as a God-given right. Moreover, religion
helps the poor to believe that their suffering is virtuous, and that there will offer them some
