Summary
Traditionally, Strength and Conditioning exist through the training of a healthy athlete,
but injured athletes are subject to rehabilitation. Once a player has been injured, they join their
sports physical therapist for Post-Injury Rehabilitation before joining their conditioning coaches
for re-integration with the team and' weight room workouts.' The initial goals of the two different
facets are very different in sports due to post-injury timing implementation. For rehabilitation,
the facet is directed towards enhancement of tissue healing, elimination of dysfunction, and
provision of systematic progression of strength and long-range motion. On the other hand, the
player has to be reintegrated into the team once again through the strength and conditioning
program. Even now, the evidence is still lacking on how strength and rehabilitation principles
can be integrated into a rehabilitation program to create a comprehensive rehabilitation program.
