DIFFERENCES AND SIMILARITIES IN COLD WAR

COLD WAR
Introduction.
Cold war emerged after the Second World War. The Second World War was between the
United States and the Soviet Union together with their allies. This cold war emerged as a
result of economic and political propagandas. It is worthy noting that there were only a few
resources to get the weapons. The term cold war was first introduced by a historian known as
Gorge Orwell in his article that was published in the year 1945. In this article, he predicted
the nuclear statement would be between two or maybe three superpower countries. The cold
war started as a result of the surrender of Nazi Germany towards the end of World War II at
around May 1945. There was an alliance that was formed between the United States, Great
Britain, and the Soviet Union too. Almost the end of the year 1948 the Soviet Union had

and panic in the Soviet Union. However, these soviets defended themselves by claiming their
position in Eastern Europe. This viewpoint has, however, been challenged by John Lewis. In

the recent past, Gaddis saw the action by the Soviets in general as being a driving force
behind the post-war tensions. Additionally, he points out that this cold war was a result of the
combination of the domestic institutional situations in both the United States and the USSR
as well as the balance of forces of power. However, it is worthy noting that, in both countries,
the power was drawn from central Europe (Weiss, 2020).
According to John Lewis, the occurrence of the cold war was a result of things that were
beyond the fate of Poland. The two countries that are USSR and the US had a difference in
the set of historical assumptions and the ideological differences based on international affairs.
The events that happened could be easily be viewed through a timeline. On the other hand,
Lewis notes that the differences between the...
