the U.S.
• High plains aquifer is a large aquifer.
When and how did the High Plains Aquifer form?
• The high plain aquifer was created between the late Miocene and early Pliocene age.
• The high plain aquifer formed by the tectonically active Rocky Mountains, these mountains had
raised above the surrounding Cretaceous seas.
