Principles of Art Appreciation

Question Description

Since most of you are not artists, I cannot ask you to make a work of art that would fit the theme of this exhibition. But I can ask you to be a curator. So – I will supply you with links to many museums and galleries from the six continents where there is an active art scene. You are to search through these websites and find the best work FROM EACH CONTINENT that FITS THIS THEME OF SOCIAL PROTEST/AFFIRMATION and that you would put IN this mini exhibition. You will need to place each image INTO your document along with the LIST of INFO that identifies the work…including the website. For each work, write a sentence or two defining WHY you decided to choose THIS work for this THEME. The example for this is below.

Ashis Pahi is the person who invited me there. He and I co-curated this exhibition with the help of the Gallery Director at the State Art Gallery in Hyderabad, Sayyad Shaiek.
