find the equation of the straight line which passes through the point (-1,2) and is

A) parallel to the line with equation x=2

B) perpendicular to the line with equation y+3x=0

C)parallel to the line with equation  y-0.6x=4

A.

parallel to the line with eqn x=2  and point (-1,2)

gradient of the line m1= 0

change y/ change x= slope (m) for parallel lines m1 = m2

y-2/x+1=0

y=2

B.perpendicular to the line with equation y+3x=0 and point (-1, 2)

for perpendicular lines m1*m2=-1

y= mx +c

y=-3x

m1=-3

-3*m2=-1

m2=1/3

y-2/x+1=1/3

3y-6=x+1

3y=x+7    y=1/3x+7/3

C.parallel to the line with equation  y-0.6x=4

y=6/10x+4

m1=6/10 since for parallel line m1=m2

y-2/x+1=6/10

10y-20=6x+6

y=0.6x+2.6
