Organizations require strong leadership for optimum effectiveness. Different
organizations have different leaders with varying styles of leadership that see the organization
prosper. The leadership style depicted in an organization would influence the kind of success
the organization would have. Amazon is one of the successful companies in recent years,
which could be attributed to its leadership style and innovation. Amazon's leadership style is
unique, considering that it has specific leadership principles that everyone within the
organization has to follow (Rivet, 2017). The identified principle in the organization are
ownership, hiring and developing the best, invention and simplicity, thinking big, customer
obsession, and becoming curious. The existence of such attributes in the company has
fostered the company's success in recent years. Despite its success, the company could have
achieved more with slight changes in its leadership. The primary changes to be made within
Amazon are its overly forthright leadership, insensitive management, and the breeding of
unhealthy competition among employees. The existence of such elements in the
organization's leadership has prevented the organization from reaching greater heights.
However, Amazon can increase its success rate by incorporating transformational,
servant, and authentic leadership within the organization. Transformational leadership is one
of the influential leadership styles that entails the creation of a high-performance workforce
through the motivation of employees to go beyond their daily requirements. The charismatic
nature of transformational leaders intellectually stimulate followers and inspire them to great
success (Celik, Akgemci, & Akyazi, 2016). Servant leadership, on the other hand, focus on
