Before the semester, I had no clue what white-collar crime meant. I do not even
remember hearing the phrase white-collar crime before I heard it in class. Through this class, I
learnt that white-collar crime denotes financially inspired, nonviolent crime done by corporations
as well as government professionals. Typical white-collar offenses could comprise fraud, wage
theft, corruption, Ponzi schemes, labor racketeering, insider trading, misappropriation,
cybercrime, money laundering, copyright infringement, forgery along with identity theft. These
offenses are some of the most prevalent forms of white collar offences. These offenses all have
the resemblance that the eventual goal is to get some kind of monetary or economic gain.
