Question 1
Unethical practices tend to be very costly to any organization. Many organizations have
ended up shutting down due to unmanaged ethical issues in the organization. Mr. Rashid can take
various measures to handle the unethical problems he is experiencing from his employees. Firstly,
Mr. Rashid can come up with programs to facilitate the employees’ understanding on ethical
behavior. Many organizations have tried to tell their employees to behave ethically. However,
these words do not make much of an impact since the people still behave as they please. If Mr.
Rashid comes forward to develop the employees’ understanding of ethical behavior, then some of
the issues will be addressed. He will have to put regulations on how to report unethical behavior
among the employees as well as educate the employees on the importance of behaving ethically.
Secondly, Mr. Rashid can encourage transparency, openness, as well as communication
among the employees. Such a culture can go a long way in fighting the ethical issues in the
organization (Makhoul, Chehab, Shaito & Sibai, 2018). Once people are open and transparent, all
the transactions taking place in the department would be out in the open. Therefore, no individual
would want to be involved in any fishy business. Considering communication, the employees will
learn to communicate with each other, and hence once one of them has a problem, they can easily
reach out. All these contribute to the transparency of transactions, and the business gets to be
handled better. Thus, Mr. Rashid should employ these strategies as they will greatly assist him in
fighting the issues he is experiencing among his employees.
