Think about the hundreds of decisions you made this week. Which of the heuristics (mental shortcuts) or tendencies described in which explains about concepts, prototypes, algorithms, confirmation bias,etc.. did you employ? Provide at least 3 examples.
I always go to the convenient store near my hope and pick up a gallon of milk. I am used to paying the exact same amount every time. I sent my friend to pick up milk and I gave him exactly what I spend each time, even though we were at a different store. When he spent more, I didn't believe him and thought he was lying. This is an example of confirmation bias. I was certain that the price would be the same despite the different store and I therefore searched for info that would confirm my bias.
Another example is that I walk into my house and go about the same process of turning of the alarm system and turning on the lights. This is an example of an algorithm as it is a series of steps I carryout without conscious thought.
Another example is when I enter my car I put the keys into the ignition, turn on the AC, put on my seat belt, check my mirrors, and check my lights, and place my car in reverse. I always park forward instead of parallel or in reverse, so I always end up reversing out of a parking lot. This routine is so ingrained that I sometimes still will put my car in reverse, in the rare scenarios when my car is not parked normally. This is an example of an algorithm as it is a series of steps I carryout without conscious thought.
