The musculoskeletal disorder I choose to discuss is Rheumatoid arthritis. The incidence
and prevalence of the disorder in the world is approximately 0.24 to 1 percent, according to the
Global Burden of Disease studies carried out between 2010 and 2017 (Safiri et al., 2019). In
Europe and the United States, there are higher prevalence numbers, where it is estimated to be
0.5 to 1 percent. In the northern countries of Europe and the US, the yearly incidence of
Rheumatoid arthritis stands at 40 cases per 100,000 people. Specifically, in the US, 1.3 million
people have Rheumatoid arthritis, whereby an estimate of annually 41 new cases is recorded
(Hunter et al., 2017). Based on gender, twice the number of women is affected by Rheumatoid
arthritis more than men. As a result, the lifetime risk for women is at 3.6 percent, while men it is
