Agile methodologies vs Extreme programming
In Extreme Programming (XP), teams are thoughtfully organized to deliver higher
quality software products (Singh et al., 2019). The aim of XP is to reduce the costs associated
with change requests by implementing shorter development cycles. This is in contrast to
methodologies such as Waterfall where an extended development cycle follows a sequential
approach. A benefit of following the XP methodology is the increased opportunities to revisit
software requirements. The values that XP rely on include respect, feedback, simplicity,
courage, and communication (Parikh, 2019). While the advantages of following an XP
methodology are evident, critics have also highlighted concerns in its use. XP practices
