In terms of challenges, various challenges exist in Middle Eastern countries, making
transitions to liberal democracy. First, indigenous populations typically find themselves in a
minority state, with the majority of citizens lacking a sense of citizenship. The other challenge is
the problems of subjugation and population mobility (Imai & Zeren, 2017). Other challenges that
affect liberal democracy include extreme police brutality and frequent violence causing Arab
uprising. The uprising in Middle Eastern nations is a challenge that causes the formation of
repression and civil war, thereby resulting in political instability that can not pave the way for the
transition to liberal democracy (Imai & Zeren, 2017). Also, the uprising results in limited
