Description

How does mass media and morality function combine to connect horror, mass media, adultery, and punishment in the film The Ring? Follow the link below to my documentary "Wrath of Samara" and use it to help guide your analytical outline. Try and include references to Marshall McLuhan, Sigmund Freud, and Carl Jung and the manner in which I use their ideas to critically engage The Ring. First, describe in brief their big ideas and then describe how I apply those concepts to a film analysis of The Ring.

1) Explain what is meant by positive externalities. Positive externality is the benefit to a third-party during an economic transaction. It’s a indirect benefit to the third-party. 2) Describe how an under allocation of resources occurs when positive externalities are present and how this can be corrected by government action. An under allocation of resources occurs when positive externalities are present because the marginal social benefit is more than marginal private benefit. It can be correct by providing the subsidy on the goods. 3) Solve the following using this graph: PositiveExternalities.pdf Calculate the potential benefits to society at equilibrium? 1/2(6-3)(60-40) = 30 in terms of net benefits to society 4) What are the potential benefits to society after Government increases subsidies by $2.00? 0.00 5) Start at equilibrium. What are the potential benefits to society after Government increases taxes by $0.50? 1/2(50-40)((0.50)=2.5 6) How much in terms of quantity must consumers demand more to gain all the benefits to society? 60-40=20
