Understanding religion is essential in understanding an unfamiliar culture because it
incorporates the adoption of unique sets of values and codes of conduct that guide behavior
(Radhakrishnan, 2019). Every religion is unique in its own way, and it is essential to
accommodate the values and issues that come with religion, and therefore, a competitive cultural
understanding depends on the religion and the key aspects it is concerned with (Radhakrishnan,
2019). Religion is an amalgamation of culture, and accommodation is key as long as unity is
achieved, and therefore the success measures associated with the same is regarded as the most
crucial approach in spearheading change.
Religion is adopted by culture not because it has priorities that correspond to those in the
culture but based on the beliefs of those in the culture to leave their ways and accommodate the
new ways of religion (Radhakrishnan, 2019). The success of religious integration always
depends on the ability of the members of a culture to drop their ways and live based on the new
guidelines (Radhakrishnan, 2019). An example was the traditional African society when the
missionaries visited to spread the gospel; they had to drop their culture and conform to the new
Christian ways and life.
