intelligence in relationship management to help them handle themselves appropriately.
Question 2: How can/does emotional intelligence influence interprofessional collaborative

Emotional intelligence is of great essence when working in inter-professional groups.
Emotional intelligence refers to the inherent capability of an individual to notice their own
emotions as well as those of others. As such, individuals with high emotional intelligence will
judge their words and actions before engagement, and will equally judge and evaluate others’
words and actions before making conclusions. This type of thinking ensures that there is less
conflict at the workplace, as well as enhanced collaboration and coordination between team
members. Emotional intelligence also enables individuals to judge and label others’ words,
actions, and emotions appropriately such that there is no exaggerated meaning from simple
actions, words, or emotions. Using appropriate judgement and labeling ensures that there is
understanding between team members, which limits situations of conflict.
Based on my emotional intelligence quiz results obtained from global leadership
foundation, I scored 7 for self-awareness, 7 for self-management, 9 for social-awareness, and 6
for relationship management. All the categories were scored out of 10, which is the highest score
for each category. These results imply that I have exceptional skill in social awareness but least

skills in relationship management. It is also evident that I have moderate to efficient selfmanagement skills and self-awareness.
