The central angle of the shaded sector measures 40 degrees. The radius of the circle is 3 cubed root of 3 meters. Find the area of the shaded sector.

Aug 28th, 2014

Radius = 3 cube root of 3

Central angle = 40 degrees

Area of the shaded sector = 40 degrees/360 degrees * pi * r^2

     = 1/9 * pi * (3 cube root of 3) ^2

     = 1/9 * pi* 9 cuberoot of 9

     = 1/9 * 3.14 * 9 cuberoot of 9

   = 3.14 cuberoot of 9

 = 6.531

= 6.53

I have taken 3.14 as the approximation of PI
