FACT SCENARIO: The following Incident happened at around 7:30pm on a Friday. The employee’s shift is from 2:30-10:30pm. The employee works Monday - Friday. The employee is a diabetic and administers insulin 3 times a day during meals. On this particular day, the employee administered insulin to self at least 1 hour later than normal. The employee had been working for said company 10+ years and does the task he was hurt at routinely. The employee had no work limitations. The INCIDENT: The employee was working on a ladder, 3rd step, cleaning off the tops of shelves. Employee said all he remembers is coming down steps, on about 3rd step, and then found himself starring at the ceiling laying on his back. Employee was not carrying anything down with him. Fellow employees saw him laying on ground and when they got to him, he was conscious. Employee does not know if he loss conscious or if he fell. The ladder was inspected fully and no problems were found. The employee had small cut on back of head that did not require stitches. Employee was taken to hospital where he stayed Friday night, Saturday and released Sunday morning. Check-ups were conducted on employee. Employee repeatedly says that it is not the fault of employer but he has a personal medical issue. Employee missed no work beside the 3 hours of shift on incident day.
