The way that a hair salon, which is what is known as a "brick and mortar" business (an actual, physical place) can only be affected by Internet competition if it lacks the following:
1. Online presence- the hair salon needs to become promoted online and establish a presence online as a "brand". Once out there, the PR team needs to optimize traffic to the website, creating easy to find tags, making a user-friendly interface, and promoting in ads.
2. Customer ease- many salons may have a way for clients to follow the schedules of their favorite hair stylists, book online, cancel appointments, establish payment options, and look for the latest hairstyles. Imagine NOT having this availability and having to compete with someone who does! It s not hard to do; all it takes is creativity and a good, tech-savvy employee.
3. Public relations- as with every business venture, advertisement is everything. Lack of advertisement means lack of customers. In today's online influenced-world to not belong there is the same as not existing as a brand at all.
