Find the Sum of the New Base and Height

I’m working on a Mathematics exercise and need support.

A triangle has a base of 3 feet and a height of 6 feet. If its area is increased to 35 square feet by increasing the base and height by the same number of feet, what is the sum of the new base and height?

Final Answer

Area = 1/2 *b*h

        = 1/2 *3*6

        = 9 feet sq

New area=35 feet sq

35=1/2 *b *6

35 = 3b

b= 35/3 feet

    = 11.67 feet
