Organizational Management and Operations Outline
Organizational levels
The three levels of policing in the United States are local law enforcement, state law
enforcement agencies, and federal law enforcement organizations. The local law enforcement
police account for 90 percent of the police and the sheriff departments.
The three fragments of the policing functions lack consistency in the recruitment of the
law enforcers, and there are varying strategies for managing the police functions across the
departments.
The local laws cannot apply to state and federal law enforcement levels, but only the
local or county level. Everybody in the United States, including the visitors, need to comply with
the federal laws. State laws only take effect upon visiting the state, or the state's residents need to
comply with the state laws.
Analysis of the organizational levels
There is a similarity between the three levels of organization because they aim to
maintain law and order among the citizens and visitors.
According to Rosenbaum and McCarty (2017), the differences in the three policing levels
are due to specialization in their roles and hierarchy in their level of executing law and order.

department, airport department and colleges. Sixty-six agencies work as state law enforcement
agencies. These agencies work as state police, highway patrols, and crime scene investigators.
According to Williams (2015), federal law enforcement organizations have employed
approximately 100,000 officers, whereby 60 percent are permanent and full-time law enforcers.
These enforcers work in the immigration department, naturalization departments, federal prisons,
