Iron has a density of 

7.86 g/cm3 (1 cm3=1 mL). Calculate the volume (in dL) of a piece of iron having a mass of 4.73kg .

density = mass/volume

volume = mass/ density

convert the mass in kgs into grams which is 4730g

volume = 4730/7.86

volume = 601.78ml

but the volume is needed in dL

therefore convert ml to dL

1dl = 100ml

thus 601.78 ml = 601.78/100

 ans =6.0178dL
