Find the Amount of Water

Question Description

In a butane lighter, 9.7g of butane combines with 34.7g of oxygen to form 29.3g

 carbon dioxide and how many grams of water?

Final Answer

apply law of mass conservation:

butane+oxygen=carbon dioxide +water

total input mass=total output mass

9.7+34.7=29.3+x

x=(9.7+34.7)-29.3

=15.1 g of water
