Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is a federal decree passed to ensure
all children with disabilities access proper public education. The regulation which was ratified in
1975 under the Education of Handicapped Children Act title states that children with disabilities
are entitled to an education that meets their unique needs and prepares them for further learning
and independent living at no charge.
Fundamentally, the amendments that were incorporated in IDEA 2004 transformed the
rule in several vital areas. Some of these areas include the methods that would be used to identify
students with learning disabilities.
IDEA 1997 and 2004 have some discrepancies in the stipulations in distinct elements
regarding learners with disabilities in the United States. Part C of the law recognizes the need for
spotting and reaching infants and toddlers with disabilities. With regards to part c IDEA 2004
and 1997 differs in a few elements.
