Data warehousing architecture
Single-tier architecture
The goal of a single layer is to minimize measurements of stored data so that excess data is
eliminated. This architecture is virtually never used.
Two-tier architecture
Both - the layered architecture isolates truly open data warehouses and sources and can not be
extended and enables a full number of end-users. There are also network impediments that
contribute to connectivity problems.
Bottom Tier:
The database of the database application is typically a connected database system.
Middle Tier:
