This is how I want your paper turned in. Your audience is someone like your roommate – intelligent, educated, but has NO IDEA what the case study is about. Here you will give a general overview of the two leaders you chose. This is generally one paragraph or two. The easiest way to explain this section is to think of it like an abstract or introduction. This section, if written properly, can actually act as the abstract for this paper. . It will, in a sense, set up the rest of the paper, which is the review of the case, analysis, recommendations, and the summary and conclusions sections. Remember that you got this information from the textbook. Consequently, you should cite Baldwin, Bommer, and Rubin (2013). You should NOT write “According to the textbook” as your reader has NO IDEA who or what is that. If there is a second paragraph, it will look like this. The paper should be written in third person narrative. I do not want to see you writing in the first person. One other note: a business is an “it,” not a “they.” Remember that when you use pronouns describing a business. Leader Effectiveness of ______ and ______ In this section, you will answer your question: What makes them effective leaders? Note: I do not want to see heading written as questions or you asking questions within the paper. The idea is to answer it in essay form. Here you will describe what make them BOTH effective (i.e., their commonalities). In the following level 2 headings, you can be more specific for each leader. Comparing and Contrasting Leadership Styles
Leadership is an integral aspect, possibly the most important determinant to the success
of any organization. Leading corporates across diverse niches around the globe have many things
in common, one of them being efficient leadership. A proper leadership structure is the basis for
the strategizing and implementation of a viable business roadmap. With this in place, this paper
will cover the concept of effective leadership, comparing and contrasting the leadership styles of
two successful business leaders who have nurtured and grown their brands to becoming global
giants in their respective niches.
Leader Effectiveness of Elon Musk and Jack Ma
A leader cannot make anything happen unless with a capable, competent team behind
them, and this is a concept that business moguls Jack Ma and Elon Musk comprehensively
understand (Sattar, 2019). It is the teams that get the task done as the leader lays out the vision.
One of the common aspects to their successes is that both Jack Ma and Elon Musk have been
able to inspire and nurture competent teams who have conceptualized their visions, implement
developed strategies and worked diligently to the realization of their business visions. (Atkinson,
2019) The two leaders understand the importance of having a solid, visionary and dedicate team
behind them, and this is the underlying concept behind their coaching and inspiring leadership
styles. During the inception of their businesses, they worked tirelessly to inspire and develop
effective and efficient teams who could make viable decisions of their own (Sattar, 2019), and
this is one of the factors that has facilitated their effectiveness in business leadership.
Elon Musk
Elon Musk is an effective leader because of his intuitiveness to inspire and coach teams
towards conceptualizing and running with his vision (Sattar, 2019). Prior to inception, most of

his projects such as SpaceX seemed nonviable, and this triggered doubts in many investors and
employees, of whom some left. Nonetheless, Elon Musk was able to effectively communicate his
ideas to various stakeholders, nurturing his subordinates businesswise and this fostered the
development of a culture of constant learning, dedication and perseverance among his employees
(Sattar, 2019). Considering that his ventures are mostly centered on technology and futuristic
inventions, the need for a patient, dedicated and persistent team is paramount, and with this
knowledge, Elon Musk has been able to effectively inspire hundreds of employees to think like
him (Sattar, 2019).
Jack Ma
Jack Ma is an effective leader because be embraces authenticity, coaching and supporting
of subordinates. Effective leadership comes in when subordinates voluntarily buy into one’s
ideas, and this is what Jack Ma has been able to achieve over the many years he has been in the
corporate world (Atkinson, 2019). A strong character and his authentic personality have enabled
him to earn the respect, trust and loyalty of his employees, investors and other stakeholders, a
factor that is paramount for the success of any business. Also, he believes that a good business is
based on the diligence of a strong team whose members communicate a common language, and
this drove him to implementing coaching and subordinate support as the foundations of his
leadership style (Atkinson, 2019). In growing his Alibaba business, be encouraged idea
contributions from his subordinates, who in the process were coached and nurtured in business,
and this facilitated the development of a strong competent team (Mimaroglu, 2016) that is behind
the success of the business.

Some of the strategies that both Jack Ma and Elon Musk used to motivate among their
employees were developing a relationship with them and creating an enjoyable work
environment in which the employees were empowered to think, be creative, and aspire to make
progress. A healthy work environment not only encompasses tranquil surroundings, but also
making employees feel relevant and responsible for outcomes. The approach inspires employees
to keep learning, delivering their best and develop their confidence in handling delegated tasks.
Jack Ma
Jack Ma motivates in his organization by creating a conducive environment that
encourages creativity, taking up responsibilities and inspires employees to celebrate
achievements as they embark on achieving greater milestones (Mimaroglu, 2016). In this
approach, Jack Ma seeks to ensure that employees are enthusiastic, happy with their jobs and this
in turn reflects in the quality of their output. Also, within the workforce, Jack Ma not only fosters
a comfortable working space but also promotes career development (Mimaroglu, 2016) where
each employee is encouraged to develop their technical skills, and this contributes to employee
gratification and fulfillment (Tom Popomaronis, 2020). When it comes to bonding with his
employees, Jack Ma engages and hangs out with his employees during happy hours, singing
karaoke and encouraging them to live the moment. In the event of making huge milestones, Jack
Ma always treats his employees, and this is evidenced in an occasion when he gave each
employee in the concerned workforce silly strings.
Elon Musk
Elon Musk motivates in his organization by fostering a sense...
