The Watergate scandal started on 17th June 1972 when burglars were caught in the
Democratic National Committee office, which is situated in the Watergate building in
Washington, D.C (Olson, 2016). The burglary was not ordinary since the robbers were linked to
the re-election campaign of President Richard Nixon. The scandal is considered an abuse of
power, the president who used his authority wrongfully. The events leading to the scandal
included the CREEP committee that was engaged in the re-election of Nixon, their use of
