Description
the professor returned the Observation paper assignment that you did to be edited and he asks some question that you missed to write, and he was confused about "black Americans" you addressed. I attached what you wrote.
here is what he responds:
Hi,
Centering on diversity (with a specific focus on code switching), your paper had potential to be a solid example of your understanding of this week's content.
However, your paper is not organized effectively, and your contradict your own points on multiple occasions. For example, early in the paper, you say code switching is the drive behind workplace diversity, yet you also say Code-switching has led many black Americans to be unable to prosper in their careers as they waste their time copying others instead of focusing on career development.
Your points are often too general and unclear. For example: "Working as a black individual in a white-dominated community requires one to behave and live like an American to fit in s company." I'm unclear - are you saying that either black or white individuals are not Americans, but need to act like an American? What does that mean?
Also, you missed a main part of the OP, which is your (personal application). "How does diversity, and specifically code switching, show up in your life? What have you seen in your workplace, and how, as a leader, can you effectively apply what you learned?"
Please rewrite and do what he asked especially the "black Americans", the main point personal application. write any personal application but be simple, and contradictory points on multiple occasions.

Diversity in Workplace
Workplace diversity is an issue that has remained controversial in the 21st century.
People are moving from one part of the world to another as they interact with people from
diverse parts of the world. The week learning materials have helped to understand diversity and
its effect in the workplace. The material has demonstrated the importance of effective
communication in the workplace. However, diversity is always a barrier to effective
communication. In the current world, most workplace accommodates people from black origin
and whites with equal measures. How employees relate to each other depends on their ability to
appreciate each other’s culture and origin. Racial discrimination has always remained the main
obstacle to effective relationships in the workplace.
Code-switching has been discussed as an effective way of promoting better
communication in the workplace while fostering the attitude towards each other. Code-switching
refers to the ability to behave in different ways depending on the environment (De SocarrazNovoa, 2015). Code-switching is very important in the workplace to ensure that people
appreciate each other in the workplace. It is the best way to eliminate stereotypes in the
workplace by always appreciating the people that one is interacting with at all times. In the
modern workplace, people are learning to code-switch in their respective workplaces to fit with
the others. For example, in American companies, there are people from all parts of the world and
can interact with Americans through code-switching to fit into the company’s beliefs and
cultures.
I have experienced code-switching in my previous and current workplace, where there
are several employees from Africa working in the company. The Africans in the company have
managed to cope with American culture and behave like Americans. It isn’t easy to differentiate
them from Americans who have been able to learn the American culture and fit in the company
well. It helps them when they interact with Americans as they understand our culture. Some of
them have been able to rise through ranks in the company and work as corporate managers who
are liked by clients irrespective of being Africans. Code-switching becomes the tool for
minorities living in an area with a dominating culture to live and compete favourably.
I believe that code-switching is the drive behind the workplace diversity in most of the
workplace. Employees are needed to embrace it when addressing the clients to ensure they are
