Description Assignment: Project Proposal Assignment description: For this assignment, you are proposing your topic and approach for our final assignment: an advocacy campaign. For the campaign, you will create three (or four) texts from different genres on a topic of your choice. Like any good campaign, the three (or four) texts will share the same general message in ways that make sense for their particular audiences and contexts. In this assignment, you will make two major moves. You will explain the conversation you hope to join, and you will justify the genres you plan on using to join that conversation. In other words, you will explain the message you hope to share, the genres you plan to create, and the rationale behind choosing those genres and that message. Each member of the group will choose their own genre and create a text within that genre that communicates your shared message. Questions to consider: \ Status Quo— i. What does this conversation look like? ii. Who participates? What do they talk about? iii. What genres are commonly used to do this work? Stakeholders— i. Who are the stakeholders in this conversation? ii. Who has something to gain or lose in this conversation? iii. Which stakeholders seem to have the most access to this conversation? iv. Which stakeholders do you see underrepresented? Changing the Conversation— i. Taking into account your discussion of stakeholders, does the status quo need to change? ii. Why? If it doesn’t need to change, justify why it can stay the same. iii. What message do you plan to bring into this conversation? iv. Who do you plan to target with that message? Strategy— i. Taking the above into account, what genres do you plan on using in this conversation? ii. Which stakeholders do you plan on targeting with your individual texts? iii. Why are these genres effective for your target stakeholders? iv. What style, design, and medium choices will you make in composing these planned texts? v. How will your combined texts come together to create a successful campaign? Assignment Guidelines \ This assignment is broken into two major sections: your research on the conversation you will join and your explanation of your strategy for joining it. General Outline: I.Introduction Introduce the purpose of the paper and the conversation you will join Introduce the paper sections and their order II.Research on Conversation Explain the current status quo of the conversation III.Describe the current stakeholders in the conversation and their relationship to it IV.Joining the Conversation Explain whether you plan on changing the conversation or continuing the conversation and why you have made this choice. Specify what your strategy for joining the conversation will be, who will be targeted, and which genres you will be using to do this work. NOTE: Each group member’s contribution in the proposed portfolio should be equal to the rest of the group, and the final contribution from each member should be the equivalent intellectual work of a 4-page paper. Your paper should be formatted with 1-inch margins. Font should be legible and no larger than 12-point. That is where individual people come in. One person can contribute to the conversation by simply following the three “R’s”: reduce, reuse, recycle to conserve our resources and help the planet (National Ocean Service). To bring the conversation to all individuals, we have decided to use four different genres, social media posts, scholarly articles, news articles, and advertisements, each catering to a certain demographic. 1. Social Media Posts Our first choice of genre is creating social media posts on our pages. Social media posts are a remarkable way to reach individuals. Approximately 3.8 billion people worldwide use social media, that is 49% of the world’s total population (DataReporta, 2020). This statistic entails that even if our posts do not reach every individual in the world, we can still bring awareness to a substantial amount of people. As we increasingly post about climate change and how individuals can help, more awareness will be brought to the conversation. 2. Scholarly Articles The second choice of genre is a scholarly article. Publishing scholarly articles is a great outlet for presenting those in academia with information that has been scientifically proven. The articles are fact driven and available for many individuals to read. It opens up research opportunities for those who are interested in joining the conversation and it shows the logic behind climate change. Scholarly articles may not target a large demographic, but individuals that it does target are those who are willing to go the extra mile to understand the effects of climate change and how they can help. 3. News Articles News articles are the next form of genre we will be utilizing. News articles are an efficient way to cater towards the older generation and those who enjoy learning about present issues in the world. For instance, the older generation is more likely to pick up a newspaper, or read a copy online, on how they can help save our planet. News articles are also a reliable source for research, because they are full of facts and information that has been supported by evidence. These sources can be used to show the facts and evidence we have to support our fight to bring awareness to climate change and how to contribute to the conversation. 4. Advertisements Lastly, we will employ the advertisement genre. Advertisements are an extremely successful form to bring cause to a subject. They provide a quick and easy way for viewers to engage in the cause and then learn about how they can help. In the advertisement, we can easily Kury 2 Eliciah Kury April 5, 2020 Composition II Dr. Ibrahim Mazen provide the methods of reducing, reusing, and recycling as a way an individual can help make a change. Publishing our advertisement on the internet had the potential to reach a wide range of people. Nearly 4.5 billion individuals actively use the internet, that is nearly 59% of the worldwide population (Statistica, 2020). If only 1% of the 4.5 billion internet users sees our advertisement, that is 45 million people that have at least viewed information about climate change and how they can help. That is a large number of individuals that, if they choose, can slightly alter the way they live to benefit the Earth. Conclusion Many people say, “It only takes one person to make a change.” Our dream is that everyone will contribute to saving our planet; however, we know it is unrealistic to shoot so high. We firmly believe in the quote that it only takes one person to make a change, whether that is in their own life, community, country, or world. These types of genres, social media posts, scholarly articles, news articles, and advertisements, are the most effective way to reach that individual that is willing to make a change to better the home we all love.

Air quality and global warming
Introduction
The current changes in the chemical composition of the atmosphere due to massive
industrialization, urbanization and intensive agriculture has threatened air quality across the
globe. Global warming and air quality conversation have long joined controversial topics of
politics, economy, and religion considering multiple stakeholders involved (Freilich and
Zachary, 459). The conversation on global warming usually led to improved awareness as well
as the development of strategies that would minimize the issue. The purpose of the paper is to
propose a conversation on air quality and global warming which will include a discussion to join
the dialogue as well as justification of the genres to use to join the conversation. The essay will
address the topic based on the current status quo, stakeholders involved, changing the current
perception of the topic, and a strategy for joining the conversation.
Status quo
This conversation on air quality and global warming looks declamatory and persuasive due to the
different opinions from various positions. The aim of the conversation is usually to improve the
understanding of the need to protect the environment as well as to provide better approaches to
adapt and mitigate the unexpected climate changes (Freilich and Zachary, 459). Participants of
the conversation include climate change researchers, the government, and the public.
