Principles of Integrative nutrition
One of the various principles of integrative nutrition is the size of food one is serving. One
is likely to notice that the size of food differs with each food. Secondly, one should determine how
much food they consume. This principle helps to reflect the amount of food consumed. Thirdly,
people should check on the saturated cholesterol, sodium, and fat levels (Aujla, 2019). Fourth, they
should notice the amount of sugar, fiber, and added sugar they consume. They should also check
on the amount of proteins, minerals, and vitamins they consume. Finally, one ought to know what
they are consuming with the help of an ingredients list. One should maintain a suitable nutritional
status, correct deficiencies if any, take adequate rest, break down the nutrients as well as making
changes in the body weight.
Importance of Food as Medicine
Whereas food cannot wholly replace medication, a healthy diet is a basis for a healthy
workforce and lower costs on healthcare.
Consumption of a diet full of fruits, whole
grains, and vegetables is suitable for both the
body and the mind. Such foods are responsible
for bolstering the immune systems. A healthy
diet provides important nutrients, for instance,

Also, foods affect mental health. It offers protection against the spikes in the stress
hormones called cortisol. It happens by triggering serotonin release hence calming a person. It is
why people end up turning to some
foodstuffs for comfort. Foodstuffs such as
