Organizational policies are important in keeping the core values of an institution in line
with the overall wellbeing of all stakeholders (Birkenmaier & Berg-Weger, 2018). The policies
however, need to be flexible and adaptable to changing times in order to do so. Failure to do so,
the policies become irrelevant and it becomes an uphill task to maintain the integral values of the
facility. Covid 19 has been one major disruption which has seen people change their ways of life.
By seeing some health practices being carried out remotely through ‘tele-work’ and shifting this
to become a permanent solution, it provides a breeding ground for more innovative ideas.

Post 2
Lower Shore Clinic has policies in place that cater to the wellbeing of the community at
large while still being fully aware of the surrounding environment. In order to enable them to see
more patients, they have a policy for anyone who misses three clinics requiring them to do a walk
in for them to be seen again. This upholds professionalism while making healthcare accessible to
more people (Birkenmaier & Berg-Weger, 2018). During the period of this pandemic, in order to
minimize the people at the facility, some functions moved remotely to form ‘tele-work’ which has
since been adopted to become a permanent solution making Lower Shore highly adaptable to the
wake of new realities.
